Dough Dortch retired as senior minister of Mountain Brook Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, in Nov. 2021. Previously, he served churches in Kentucky and Florida. A native of York, Alabama, he is married to Judy, and they have two children and three grandchildren.

Dortch has served on numerous denominational boards and committees, and as moderator of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. In 2013, he delivered the William L. Self Preaching Lectures at the McAfee School of Theology in Atlanta, Georgia.
