The world we live-in warrants us to respond to the catastrophes propelled by the humans. Wars and conflicts are triggered by humans for their vested interests. However, there are those who are concerned about the ruleless and ruthless global order and are being pushed to respond to the forces. This project is an outcome of the dangers the humanity is confronting. For the past three years Rev. Dr. D. Manohar Chandra Prasad and I have been observing the growing conflicts and wars happening around the world, particularly the wars between Russia and Ukraine, Israel and Palestine, India and Pakistan. As the destruction of human lives and their dwellings keep escalating day-by-day, we thought of responding to the emergent scenario from a Christian perspective by zeroing down to peace (shalom).
We have written taking all those who are struggling to stop the war by pushing peace as a countervailing principle. As Indians representing the Global South, Christians by faith, and believers in just peace, we brought the changing contours of political economy and shalom by intersecting and interlocking with each other so that the present and future generations live in harmony. Peace will remain as an abstract concept unless and until it is translated in pragmatic terms. This is why biblical, theological and ethical scholars and activists strive and struggle for the realization of peace. We sincerely hope that this tiny booklet would illumine light tp those who suffer due to conflicts and wars.
